Hamidreza Namdari, CEO of Alborz Water and Wastewater Company, announced the beginning of smart water meter installations across Alborz Province.

He stated that following the directive from the Ministry of Energy and in line with the instructions from the National Water and Wastewater Engineering Company, the deployment of smart meters has been prioritized.

As part of this plan, 28 ultrasonic smart meters with a one-inch diameter were installed in Karaj, Fardis, Mehrshahr, and Rajaei Shahr during the final days of the Iranian year 1403.

Namdari also explained that to fulfill the duties set by the General Assembly of the Engineering Company, full smart implementation of all operational processes has been scheduled as a key priority for 1404.

He added that a pilot installation of smart meters was previously conducted, which revealed about a 50% increase in drinking water consumption compared to the same period last year.

This new system not only improves consumption recording accuracy but also enables remote meter reading.
